AirTran Airways

AirTran Airways donates a set of two coach tickets for each qualified nonprofit organization.

British Airways

British Airways is offering a round-trip complimentary flight to London, pending a completion of an essay on the importance of face to face meetings.

Ford Motors

Ford has introduced “The Ford Advantage Plan”, which is for buyers of Fords, Lincolns or Mercurys. New owners have to have made payments for at least a month, then the Ford Advantage Plan will make payments of up to $700 a month for up to 12 months in case of a job loss.

General Motors

General Motors has announced their “Total Confidence” plan.  If you finance or lease any eligible 2008, 2009, or 2010 GM vehicle and lose your job due to economic reasons during the first two years of ownership, GM can make your payments for up to $500/month for up to 9 months. Car brands that are owned by GM such as Saturn also offer this same program.

Hyundai

The company’s Hyundai Assurance program lets customer lease or finance a new car and, if they run into financial troubles within 12 months of the purchase, return the car and walk away from the financial obligation without negative impact on credit standing. While involuntary loss of employment is covered under the assurance program, so are several other scenarios which could challenge the ability of vehicle owners to make payments, including physical disability and self-employed personal bankruptcy.

Additionally, Hyundai has announced the Assurance Gas Lock program which allows the customer to “lock in” a gas rate of $1.49 per gallon for a year.

JetBlue Airways Corporation

JetBlue Airways announced “The JetBlue Promise Program,” boosting customers’ confidence to book travel by honoring a full refund to anyone who experiences involuntary full-time job loss prior to their trip.  The customer, who purchased the flight and is listed as a traveler on the itinerary, can request a refund for up to nine customers traveling on one reservation.

AT&T

Through an initiative that highlights the growing demand for cleaner domestic vehicles, AT&T has announced plans to invest up to $565 million as part of a long-term strategy to deploy more than 15,000 alternative-fuel vehicles over the next 10 years. AT&T expects to spend an estimated $350 million to purchase about 8,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles and approximately $215 million to begin replacing its passenger cars with alternative-fuel models.

United Airlines

United Airlines allows customers to support select nonprofit organizations with whom they partner through the Mileage Plus Charity Miles Program. Through the program, Mileage Plus members can donate a minimum of 1,000 miles. These miles will provide air travel for families, patients or staff traveling for treatment, research and disaster response.
